The nonprofit Seed Savers Exchange sells, saves, and facilitates the exchange of seeds, particularly American homegrown varieties. As stewards of a seed bank with approximately 20,000 varieties, they emphasize preserving the history and heritage of the seeds, believing that the stories of plants and people are intertwined. The goal of my project is to reach a younger audience without alienating older loyal customers and to centralize SSE’s wealth of helpful but sometimes scattered educational materials into a convenient and portable platform.
SSE’s current bulk seed packaging and shipping packaging are functional, but I saw an opportunity to create a more engaging, enjoyable, and educational experience.
I presented SSE’s information in a clear yet innovative way across physical and digital touchpoints to drive engagement with the brand and its products.
